will ipad ever support external drives?

silly question really , but thought i might ask , as even a 64 gb isnt that big now adays ........if i use my ipad for work abroad i would take a huge movie libirary with me i know about sir movie , but if my pc is off at home or had a problem i am stuffed?

guy in the apple store told me they dont support it but it works

use the camera add on and that gives you a usb port which will allow external hard drive connection

Although you can plug in an external drive I can't see how you could play the movie files without converting them first unless the ipad supports divx?

No app according to the store, there is an app to remote control it though.

Not really an external hard drive, but you can sign up to www.dropbox.com (you get 2gb space free) and then download an app to your iphone or ipad which lets you access your files.
