Will it be ok?

I would just like to know if leaving a watercooled system for nearly 4 weeks will be ok or not? My psu was faulty so I'm waiting for it to be replaced and hopefully should get it back next week. That means the PC has nearly been off for a month. I have bi-distilled water in it, with corrosion blocker and a silver kill coil in the res. The build is 5 months old prior to this.

From inspection the water in the res looks absolutely fine.

Should I be worried about it still for such a long time?

it will be absolutley fine.....dont worry roey the corrosion blocker will keep any nasties at bay

My wife has just phoned me to say the psu has arrived so I'll hook it up when I get back tonight. Just wanted to ask and not sure if it is a daff question or not but I have my 920 d0 overclocked to 4ghz. Will putting a different psu in effect the overclock? I know it's the same psu but they all pump out slightly different voltages etc..

Will probably be fine but was just curious.

I would save the bios profile on first boot and probably use a lesser setup to start up fully on the new psu. Maybe bios default settings.

When all is seen to be working, ramp it up again

Well it will be using the 4ghz settings from the off as thats what was used last but I'll get into the bios on initial boot and set it to default like you've suggested. How long should I leave it for like that before I load the 4ghz profile, a day or two?

No, you can do it after you have checked that juice is reaching all the fans, cooling etc. It is more precautionary than anything. You can go 4GHz straightaway, I would myself tend to start up this way with a new PSU or other major item in case a connection has not been made. A few seconds before hitting DEL will not cause any problems. A bios reset will clear the OC but only do it if you have the saved settings.

Persoanlly I would leave the bios alone and just power it up and leave it. If it locks up later on then you may have been very unlucky with your overclock tolerance to miniscule voltage differences. It would have to be right on the edge of tolerance for a new psu to be a factor imo.

Don't worry I have it saved! Not going through that again, lol spent ages trying to get 4ghz on the least amount of juice.
