Will it fit?

Hi folks,

I'm looking at buying the OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB, but I need to know for sure if it will fit in my case. I've read that it's a bit of a monster in size

I've taken a couple of pics of my case (open) if it helps.

What ya reckon? Will it fit?

Btw, I know I'll need a new PSU too, so I've opted for the Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU.

Looks like it would fit if it doesn't catch on the RAM slots. Out of interest does that motherboard have a x16 pci-e slot?

Thanks everyone for the replies. The more I read up on graphics cards, the more I'm thinking the GTX is more than I really need. I'm a complete newb when it comes to this stuff :) Essentially what I'm looking for is a card to be able to play Quake 4 at Ultra settings and still get 60fps (90fps with q4max), and also be able to play a few other games, like Supreme Commander, F.E.A.R, Enemy Territory - Quake Wars.

Other specs of my machine are:
Processor: Intel Pentium D Dual Core 3.2Ghz
RAM: 2GB

My old card; Asus GeForce 7500 LE 512MB died.

Looks ok but I'd clean those wires up abit more.
Once I get whatever card I end up buying and the PSU and am ready to install them, everything will get a thorough clean.

IMO I think you need a better case.
You're probably right about needing a new case, but I was hoping not to have to spend any more than is really necessary.

The design flaw i see with that case is I can't see any front fan intake (correct me if I'm wrong). If the option is there, I'd certainly recommend you fitting it there as it looks like all the case can do is exhaust air. You might have 1 toasty 8800gtx sat in all that.

Perhaps someone else maybe able to help here, but I would have thought getting an 8800gt, and maybe a C2D cpu would be better as from what I recall, the Pentium D is the celeron? And I thought they were a bit ....

You're right, there is no front fan intake. Could the new card potentially overheat?

I thought it was either Pentium or Celeron?
