hi guys,

happy bank holiday to you gents! I was wondering wether my EVGA 600W Bronze PSU will have trouble powering 2 x-fired R9 270x's and with my piledriver 8320? Will i need an upgrade or not?

You may be okay.

Id suggest 650w for 2 x 270x's normally but I think 600w may just manage.

Personally id suggest a bigger single GPU like a 290/780, or get a bigger PSU.

already got one 270x, so i thought for a cheap upgrade it would be a good way to go, but if i have to upgrade the PSU it might just be easier to get a better GPU.

From what I've seen a single 270x can pull up to 300watts so probably better going with a single card. You can sell your 270x to help fund this and with some extra savings aim for a R9 290 as suggested above

I think it will be OK. My 550W PSU coped fine with a pair of 270's (non X) clocked to hell (1100 and 1050) and an overclocked i5-2500k, whilst mining. Total draw at the wall was around 450W.

Of course fan speed will increase along with load. Unless it's a fan that's constantly loud

I assume the PSU got louder, couldn't really tell as everything else being hammered was louder than the PSU by far.
