Will it really make that much difference??

Hi there. am upgrading my computer soon as as no-one has been posting in the memory section, i pose the question to you other experts. im am going for an thlon 64 x2 3800, 7600 gt OC, 250 gb hdd. All is good and well, however, i have just a small question concerning RAM....

Will it really make that much difference to my machine (considering i probably wont over clock my RAM) if i get branded 2x512 9 (i.e. corsair), or if i just get the generic OcUK stuff? And if there is a performance difference will i really be able to tell ? Just thinking about trying to save a bit of money on the RAM which means i might be able to buy a better part elsewhere.......

probably depends what your putting it togeather for, gaming etc?

well to be honest im going into my final year of uni, and i will need it for video editing and stuff as its part of my course, but i also play games (doom3, quake4, ut2004 etc.....) so i do need it for games as well, though i dont tend to play in crazy resolutions, with aa & af (though i might if i could!)
