Well basically I bought the E6300 and the Asrock CoreDual VSTA MoBo and well can't get it working

Just been checking to see if they will work together and it says that the moBo has a "VIA® PT880 Ultra Chipset"and the E6300 says that "Only compatible with new Intel 965 and 975X socket 775 Motherboards (Older 975 boards are not compatible)"

Does this mean that they are not compatable? Seen as though the Motherboard is under the "Other 965 Chipsets". If thats the case what you suggest I do?

Here is the link to the Asrock Site Linky

Well thats what I thought but the CPU says that a 965 or 975x chipset is required and the mobo isnt a 965 or a 975x chipset. So is that maybe the problem behind my PC no POSTing?

There are loads of people here that have that same motherboard and are running C2D's...If you have the Dual-VSTA and not the 4CoreDual-VSTA you might need a BIOS update i've heard to get the C2D to work.

with that board your cpu should work straight away.. i built one of these for my brother on sat. worked straight away. is there any way you can test your cpu in another board.. also only try 1 stick of ram in the board if you have 2
