I got a message the other day pop up advising me to back up my video downloads. If I don't and some how lost all my TV shows and movies would I be charged again if I re-download them? I noticed if I click on a video I already own I'm asked if I want to buy again. Just wondered because I'm a noob.

Yes I'm a pretty sure you would have to purchase them again.

I have formatted a couple of times and as long as your music is backed
up your purchases will still be there in your library.

Apps are the only thing they let you download again for free. Keeping music and videos safe is your responsibility. They have been known to let you download once more if you ask nicely but don't rely on it!

Not really, you're responsible for your data, but it would not surprise me if it was some old record company stipulation to stop someone sharing their login with friends to allow them all to download tracks from your purchase history.

Personally whenever I format I always move the iTunes music folder off the computer and then back again, it saves a lot of problems, and doesn't force you to reset any iPod/iPhone/iPad syncing that you have setup.

Wow that's shocking. I may as well not buy anymore if that's how bad the service is.

Its a "one off" but usually if you say you've lost the entire collection they will re-enable everything on your account for one time download again - I believe they change the DRM key for your account or something when they do it tho (so nothing already downloaded will work with your account ever again to prevent abuse) - obviously on clients already authorised they still play until you need to authorise again.

Music, videos, movies - Yes, you will be recharged.
Apps - No, you won't be.

Unfortunately it's a licensing issue. As Rroff said though, if you contact them they may give you it as a once off as a GoGW. They've done it for me aswell.

they peed me off today when i decided i fancied a reinstall and game of tiger woods 2011 and realised that its no longer on the market and that its been replaced by a £6 2012 version 6 months early
