Hello,

I am building a new water-cooled pc. I normally buy my parts from Overclockers. I would try and save a few pounds by using some of my old stuff.

I have a 3 year old HEAT KILLER REV3.0 Cooling water block. Really nice block made from brass.

Will it be suitable for my new system? I am buying the RYZEN 5 / 6 CORE CPU and probably an ASUS board to suit.

I also have the HD4890 BRASS cooling block for my old Radeon 4890 Graphics card. Would this be obsolete?

Thanks
Will

Ryzen is AM4 socket. Chances are, your block does not have an AM4 backplate or mounting. Also, only CH6 motherboard has AM3+ and AM4 mounting holes so if you take that board you may be able to use the block, if it has AM3 mounting, you will need a AM3 back plate though(which can be bought for few pounds)

There is an AM4 mount upgrade for your Heatkiller IV for about 20 Euro.
Watercool lists a "Conversion Kit Heatkiller IV for AMD" for AM4 mounting (and other mounts)
