Hi, a bit of a noob question here, I'm afraid!

Somewhere at some point I seem to recall reading something indicating that for some reason my Asus ROG Strix 1080ti would not be able to literally run 3440x1440 @ 180hz of the 34" 34GP950G-B due to bandwidth issues alone? And it would be fine on a 2xxx or 3xxx series Nvidia card? But I'm now starting to worry that I've dreamt this entirely, as I can't find anything online at all now!

I'm not too worried about the frame rates because I play really quite old/basic games, but I'd hate to buy an LG 34GP950G-B and then only be able to run it at lower resolution, as opposed to native.

Is there any sense at all in what I'm saying above or? :) please someone put me out of my misery either way! :D

What connection will you use, display port?

Displayport 1.4 maxes out at 144hz at 3440x1440 with 10bit colour iirc.

Aaah! That might be it! damn! :) but what about with 8bit colour?

Update - After googling a bit, it seems like 3440x1440 @ 180hz @ 8bit might JUST about be OK! :o details below

You can check that for yourself with my

The answer seems to be: yes, DP 1.4 HBR3 can carry 3440/1440/180/8. It can’t do 10bits.

Max refresh rate at native resolution and 10 bit color depth would be 144Hz. Dropping to 8 bits will allow you to go to 180Hz as monitors like the PG35VQ can run up to 200Hz with DP 1.4
