Will my build work?

Hello,

I am soon going to be ordering all the parts for my new build, I have never built a PC before so I am kinda nervous.

So, just checking (Although I HAVE read the spec sheets over multiple times) will all my parts work together?

I already have a hard drive, and a few optical drives lying around, I am sure that they are compatible.

PSU:
Antec True Power New Continous 750W Modular Power Supply (PSU) DC-DC

Case:
HAF X

Processor:
AMD FX 8350

Graphics Card:
Gigabyte ATI Radeon 7870 HD 1100MHz 2GB PCI-Express 3.0 HDMI OC

Motherboard:
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0

RAM:
Corsair CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 Vengeance Memory Module

OS:
Windows 8

Yes, some of the names were copy-pasted from websites.

Cheers

All looks good. A few points though.

Change the RAM to this.

The PSU is overkill for a single card set up, 500 - 600W is all you will need.

An aftermarket CPU cooler would be a good idea, if you want to do some overclocking?

Your existing HDDs should work as long as they are SATA.

But I (and most people on here) would recommend an Intel build.

What is your budget?

What are you using the computer for?

Well, I am planning on running two graphics cards when I can afford it, I was looking at Intel, but my budget is JUST £600 (possibly pushing it £10 - £20, selling some more XBox stuff...), and I want it upgrade-able, as being 13 I don't really have much of an income. So I would rather spend an extra £30 - £40 on the GPU.

I will be using it for gaming, programming (Java, Actionscript3), photo and video editing/rendering.

Thanks for the RAM recommendation, seems good!

HDD is Sata.

Yes, I am also planning on doing some overclocking, but yes, only when I can afford a CPU cooler, and I will save for a really good one.

Thanks

I wish I had a budget like that when I was 13. As for building the PC, it's not as complicated as it seems. I would recommend finding the Newegg How to build a pc guide on youtube, which is what I used.

I have been saving for a VERY long time, and have sold a lot of stuff I have had. I also try to make some money online (I do user testing (www.usertesting.com I am a tester) and youtube). Plus I am selling a load of XBox games.

EDIT: Just watched a bit of the newegg video, looks great! Thanks!

Does seem quite good, but I am gonna be doing quite a lot of stuff, and an i3 doesnt appear to quite cut it? Also I like the very roomy and upgrade-able HAF X.

Thanks, but no.

Hehehe, I would recommend you get a CPU cooler ASAP, I don't know if it's necessary, but IMO it would be..

I am almost certain it comes with an alright one? Yes, I will get a better one around April, then OC.

:D

An i3 will cut it, but I'd reccomend an ivybridge 3220 over the 2130. Might need some OC, but it should last longer.

Why does there appear to be an obsession over Intel? Are they REALLY that very much better? I don't want to start another Intel vs AMD, they are everywhere, and never have much of a conclusion.

I am pretty sure an fx 8350 is better than an i3. Maybe not better than an i5 in most not heavily multi-threaded but still.

And, this post was mostly to see if it would work, although I appreciate people offering their opinions. If I were gonna go Intel, I would get either the 2500k or the 3570k.
