Will my CPU bottleneck Pascal GPU?

Will be upgrading to the next wave of Nvidia cards when released, and am currently using a fairly out of date Mobo and CPU,
Gigabyte z77 d3h with a i5 3570k OC'd to 4.2ghz.

I'm not very intelligent when it comes to bottlenecks and have watched a few vids at the difference it can make.

So with them being quite old and the possible bottleneck of gpu, should I add the mobo and cpu to the list of parts to be upgraded?

Thanks

I dont think youll need to, i wouldnt think about it until youve tried the new GPU out. If you have a decent CPU cooler try to increase your overclock a little. You might get a few hundred more mhz with hardly any adjustment to voltage.

it will be fine. dont worry. intel are starting to struggle pushing forwards now and games makers cater for whats most popular first.

That 3570k is still quite a good gaming CPU. Modern core i7 chips can provide better minimum frame rates in quite a few games, but would be quite an expensive upgrade for a component that would only make a difference in games that properly utilise more than 4 threads. Maybe consider a second hand 3770k for a good balance of price to performance gained? Wouldn't have to get a new motherboard that way.

You're gaming at 1440p right? The workload should be on the GPU so I doubt that your cpu will be a bottleneck. If I were you I would wait and see, and if it is an issue you'd be better dropping an i7 into the motherboard you already have.

I'm in a similar position and would also be interested to hear others views. Is a 3770k really worth shelling out for.

^^If you can sell the 3570k, the 3770k should be about a ~£50 upgrade. Worthwhile in my opinion if you know the games you play will take advantage of the extra threads.
