No it won't, its one of (it not) the Fastest CPU out there.
Don't worry about all this core non-sence (8-core this and 12 core that), thats not what counts. Games hardly use 4 cores. The Haswell range has the 'strongest' single cores too.
To give it more of a chance get a good OC on it too. 4.4-4.5 Ghz is the sweet spot.
