Will my MBP GPU cook...

Hi,

I'm planning on using my 2010 13" MBP with an LG 29UC97C (29" Display).

It runs a resolution of 2560 x 1080 which is almost at the limit of my machine, 2560 x 1600.

I will mostly be using it for work and browsing but nothing visually heavy except for videos/films occasionally.

Would my MBP struggle or should it be able to cope comfortably? I do plan to upgrade to an SSD in the near future but if it's going to sound like its about to take off 24/7 I'll just put that towards upgrading to a newer more powerful MBP instead.

If the GPU is rated to output that resolution I don't see why it would have a problem.

will be fine. 3d rendering or gnu accelerated tasks will push the gpu far more than just running at a high res desktop.

Yup .. still got a till the end of the year to get my GPU-dead MBP i7 fixed..

My 2011 MBP is just used for work stuff but outputs fine to a 27" 2560x1440 and a 34" 3440x1440 at the same time.
