I know that would be a given with the higher end graphics cards, but I'm only looking at the budget end of the nvidia (GT 610/210 and 8000 series) since I just want to get something a bit better into my computer (I did get a graphics card when I built it, but it didn't play nice with the monitor I had at the time so I had to send it back).
I do also know that PCI-E 2.0 cards are backwards compatible with motherboards that have PCI-E 1.0 slots, but I'm not sure if that is true now (and the GT 610 cards listed on the OCUK site don't even state what bus type they support, but the type of RAM they use might give a hint).
Something else I need to know is what cards in those ranges (or close as long as they have 1GB RAM max due to OS limits) would be suitable for what I'm doing in the way of upgrades as I'm adding a USB3 card as well and I don't want the cooler to cover the PCI-E 1x slot beneath it.
And the motherboard in question is an asus M2N-MX.
