Will my netbook run Windows 7?

I have an Asus EeePC900 with 1gb RAM. I want to know if it will run Windows 7 smoothly?

Lots of netbooks come with Win 7 starter and run fine, my Acer Aspire one included. I'm dubious if the full version would work properly though.

Yes it will run win 7 but ideally you want 2gb in there.

Buy another RAM module, 2GB. Replace that with your current 1GB. Then install windows 7 (any edition)

I have run windows 7 ultimate on many netbooks both with 1GB and 2GB. That extra 1GB does make all the difference when doing things. It does work however with 1GB, starter especially like mentioned, although other editions do run, just not as good.

I haven't had a pleasant experience with any netbook's running Windows 7 Starter (or any version for that matter) regardless of memory or CPU; stuttery, laggy, horrible. Install XP and always get a lovely silky smooth experience.

Why do you want to use 7 on it?

I have used windows 7 on a nettop before with 1gb of ram, it did have a dual core atom though.

Starter is fine on mine, although I have installed 2Gb of ram.

7 Pro 32 runs just fine on my Lenovo S10e. Better than XP in fact. 1.6GHz Atom n270, 2GB RAM, have used both on a 32GB SSD and the bog standard 160GB WD Caviar Blue

It will work ok, I find Win7 is pretty hard on your HD... What HD is in you eee?

Running W7HP here on my Advent 4211 (MSI Wind rebadged) upgraded to 2GB.
