will the better performance from the new card kind of mess up the graphics when playing games with this monitor, here are the specs i got off everest

sorry if this was a stupid question to ask.

are you happy with the picture quality and colours of your current monitor. if so keep it.... :p

gaming at 1024x768 will allow you to turn all the eye candy on without killing performance with an x800/6800gt.... :D

yeah this is fine, playing games in 1024x768 is a dream of mine lol, the only game i play is rainbow six rogue spear and i play that in 512x480 or something similar, im upgrading most things so i can play the new rainbow six coming out as rogue spear is almost dead for online play.

asus k8v deluxe mobo,
socket 754 3000+ / 3200+
x800 or a 6800gt (agp)
1 gb of ddr pc3200 (corsair)
1 80gb sata hdd (unless my ata133 would still be ok??

1 cd/DVD rom
1 cd rw
1 floppy
1 80mm fan

would all of this run on a 300w power supply?? also would 2.0ghz be enough for the latest games? because css says minimum requirments are a cpu thats 2.2ghz!? sorry for all the q's and thanx for the feedback

an a64 3000/3200 is plenty enough for all new games. ignore the 2ghz, that's probably a minimum rating for intel p4s.... :p

ata133 drive will work but if it's an old 5400rpm model then you'll definitely notice the difference if you get yourself a nice new 7200rpm drive. you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between ide/sata imho unless going for the top end...

now for the psu. if it's a good quality branded one, then you may just get away with it powering that setup. borderline really.....

but if it's a generic one that was cheap or has come bundled with a case then forget it. you really do need to get a new, decent branded one. yet more expense.... :p

yeah its a cheap one, and my hardrive is 7200rpm so no worries there :)

Akasa Ultra Quiet 400W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.0 PSU - Black Nickel with Blue LED Fan (CA-013-AK)

would that be ok?
