Will my PC work in the States if I change the PSU?

I have a custom built PC and there is a very high probability that I will be moving to the States in the summer. I was wondering if I change the PSU, and keep the res of the components, will it work in the States?

Check the PSU, most have a 240v/130v switch on the back.

If it does, then you don't need to swap it out

But you DO need to remember to flick the switch before switching it on

You don't need to replace any other components whether your PSU has the switch or not.

Will also need a power lead with the US 2 pin plug rather than the UK one, likewise would have to check the monitor for compatibility and appropriate lead.

Quite a lot of PSUs will accept 90-264v input these days without a switch but you'd have to check that.

Yeah you dont need to swap the PSU.

Physically switched PSUs are less common these days, it's all done electronically and automatically these days. The label on the PSU will tell you if it can handle the US flavour of voltage 110v/60Hz.
