Will my PSU be enough to run this?

Hi Folks,

I've been running round in circles. Basically changing my PC but want to try and use my old PSU (Antec Phantom 350w) since it is rather good and highly efficient. This is what I have priced up;

- AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1055T 2.80GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail £159.99
- Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H AMD 890GX (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard £104.97
- Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £65.99
- Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (ST31500341AS) £57.99
- Coolermaster Elite 430 Case - Black £41.99

I have a Blu-ray ROM + 3 other SATA disks I want to use from my old system.

Do you think I am on my limits?

Think it will struggle, do you have a GFX card on that as well?

No graphics card, I was planning on using the built in ATI on the motherboard. I don't play games, I mostly edit HD camcorder video and rip my Blu-Ray discs. Just trying to re-use what I can.

Ok - thanks. Is the motherboard a good one? I'm not really up-to-speed with the current models. I'm probably paying for stuff here that I won't use so can look at other ones.

IF you dont intend to play games ect then you can save a fair bit on the mobo, theres a micro ATX one for under £60 right now that would do you fine. That mobo supports multiple GPUs and overclocking ect, lotta things u wont use.

OK - thanks for the advice. Will these Micro ATX boards fit OK in the Coolermaster case and support 4GB or possibly even 8GB RAM?

Need to decide it 4GB is OK or whether 8GB would be beneficial.

The cheapo mobo will support either and should be fine for your needs, more expensive board are just for folks that wanna put all sorts of **** in em

. The MicroATX one has 4 ram slots for dual channel ram and you should be good for up to 16gb if u really wanna go nuts. However on special right now is 8gb of Corsair ram at £125 which imo is a fuin amazing deal.
