Ill be ordering a Sandy bridge setup in January, Motherboard Cpu and RAM.

I also now own a 5850 card from the offer. So that needs factoring in.

Will my Tagan 480w have any chance of powering this. or if not can you please spec me the cheapest but most reliable replacement. (no cheapy brands. always liked a good psu)

Thanks :)

Are new setups quite easy on power draining?

I remember a while back people were buying 1000w psus and stuff, is that pointless these days?

Ah thanks for this graph. I think the tagan was a decent enough PSU a couple of years back . Its been stable enough as long as Ive had it.

Looking forward to an upgrade now then :)

cheers

While im here can anyone tell me the cheapest most legit way to have windows 7. Are OEMs the same as Retail without the box. Is it limited to how many times you can install it or something?

OEM is tied to the motherboard it was first installed / activated on, but you can re-install many times on the same machine but you might need to use the automatic phone system.

Retail can be moved to a new pc belongs it is uninstalled from the first pc.

So an OEM aint really a good investment in that regard. Looks like its gonna sting me 105 quid for a retail :(

Yeah thats true but its a big dent in my build budget to start. Stings a bit.

Fancy getting a SSD too. Adds up to 200 squid without even looking at Sandybridge :(.doh!
