Will my PSU cut it?

Guys, currently running the spec in my sig on my trusty old Tagan TG480-U01 PSU.

Now I was considering plumping for the 8800GTX as the price is just toooooo tempting at the mo!!:D

Question is, will my PSU power the card? Or am I asking for too much from it?

Anyone running a GTX with this PSU, or any other brand PSU at 480w?

Don't want to have to get a new PSU just yet, and it would make the bargain GTX just not such a great deal if I have to add a £60+ PSU on top.

Hmmm, seems I might just be in luck. According to the eXtreme PSU Calculator, the GTX only uses about 16w more than my GTS at it's current clocks.

Can anyone confirm this is correct?

Given that my 480 is currently powering a GTS640, I don't see any reason at all why that PSU of yours (which is more powerful) wouldn't run a GT.

Ah great.

I heard all this about needing so many amps on certain rails and stuff like that.

I've built computers for years and years but its only recently power has become such a big thing with all these powerful graphics cards. Unless I was building underpowered comps all this time :D

Sack it, no rush replying now that the GTX has just jumped up £20 again:rolleyes:

Guess i'll wait another while until it drops again. Not going to be ripped off just for a small speed boost.
