Hi there!

I am upgrading my rig and trying some overclock to get the best out of my components

So for now I have:
M4A79t deluxe
phenom 2 x4 965 @1.5625V 4.1 Ghz
H100 Push pull config (4 fans)
8 Go Ram DD3
MSI Radeon 7950
2 HDD SATA
1 SSD
5 140mm fans + 1 180mm fan

My PSU is a Corsair HX620W, 3 years old

I checked on this website
http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

It says I need 560 Watts. But I don't have the option with an overclock GPU

Question : does that leave me room to overclock the 7950 ?

Thanks !

Yes plenty of room. PSU is a good quality one.

To get an accurate reading you should measure the watts drawn at the wall. PSU calculators are quite over the top on their estimates from my experience.

Thanks for the answer. How can I measure the watts drawn at the wall ? Do I need a specific instrument ?

Yeah. A power meter (google Plug-In Power and Energy Monitor, that's the one I use). OcUK used to sell some. It's £10-£15.

Note that it's power at the wall. Usually, power fed to the components is 85% of that figure.
