Will my RAM limit overclockability?

Hi at the end of the month i'm getting a new motherboard, case and HSF so as to improve the overclockability of my E8600. However I'm worried my RAM will be a limiting factor as I see most overclockers use PC8500.

My current RAM is:

4GB (2x2GB) of GeIL Black Dragon PC6400 C4

My CPU and mobo will be: E8600 + Asus P5Q Pro

As a student im on a tight budget and would prefer not to have to get a set of Pc8500 dimms, however if people think its necessary for a good overclock (I'm looking at ~4ghz) then i will spend the extra and sacrifice some bar crawls!

Cheers

The E8600 has a x10 multi, so PC2-6400 is more than enough for 4ghz.

How far have you been able to clock the memory? Because it should be enough to take the far cheaper E8500 to 4ghz, possibly even an E8400 too.

I'm using 8GB (4x2GB) of the Geil Black Dragon PC6400 on an ASUS P5Q Pro at the moment (with a Q6600). I've had the RAM stable with a FSB of 430; it could probably go higher but my CPU temps were worrying me. So you should be fine with that RAM, obviously a x10 multiplier gives an FSB of 400, and with a 1:1 ratio FSB:RAM, you won't even need to overclock the RAM.
