imo, for the price your better off sticking as you are as you wont see any difference at all really. if you need more MHZ, just overclock a tad and loosen the timings

My 4x1GB DDR2800 is at 860MHz right now on stock timings, I could run it at 667~ and note the difference in say CSS Stress test if you like ?

I have a Q6600 at 2.57GHz btw.

is it worth upgrading? and could you Recommend any. my vista memory score is only 5.2 :( everything else is 5.9

If you are not going to OC the CPU, then you will see virtually no difference. If you raise the CPU FSB to 333 (which would match your memory) then you should see some improvement. And, IMO, ignore the Vista memory thingy.

Gaming performance isn't affected much by memory speed - you would see far more gain from upgrading the cpu or gfx card (likely to be expensive given you have a Q6600 and 8800gtx).

Going from PC5300 to PC8500 RAM would likely only gain you around 5% tops in terms of framerate.
