Will my set up get 5.1 via ARC (sonos TV PC ps5)

Having a bit of a dilemma.

I have a Sonos Beam paired with 2 sonos one speakers as rears to make it 5.1 essentially.

I've recently changed TV. My last TV had ARC but it wouldnt work j think the port was borked. So I went optical instead.

That caused me to need a optical switch the split the audio from the beam, to the TV, PC and at the time PS4 separately. (This was because the PS4 wouldnt do 5.1 if getting the audio through hdmi from the tv)

Any way, I now have an LG CX which also supports arc but I have left my set up as it was using optical as it worked fine.

The issue has arisen because I've just found the upcoming PS5 doesbt have an optical port any more so I need to rethink the set up.

So my questions are

If I use ARC then connect and receive audio for all my devices from the TV via their own hdmi, will I get 5.1 from them, PC and PS5?

I feel I had issues with the PC so had to get an external soundcard for 5.1 support originally.

Hope this makes sense, I think sonos itself is the route to a fair few issues interms of it supporting 5.1 or not too but as it is now I'm happy, but getting a ps5 is going to cause me issues I think

Hey, I have a bit of Sonos experience.

You will need to go through the TV, hopefully your TV is a newer model that allows pass through of dolby codecs.
For PC, you have to use a soundcard to encode audio into Dolby 5.1 and then run optical cable from PC into the Beam.

That's how I have it right now and it works, however if I'm going to have to go ARC (due to ps5 not having an optical port) then i wont be able to use optical for my PC as theres one con section on the beam. Its ARC hdmi by default but comes with an optical adapter so it's one or the other :(

I'm thinking I have to decide if i want 5.1 on PC or ps5, and run with one or the other.

Not sure what my pass through is, it's an LG CX I'll do some digging. Thanks for the help so far

Actually maybe the PS5 HDMI to the TV will allow pass through, then optical from the TV to my switch then to the beam as I have it now. I guess it depends on how the ps5 and PC will talk
