Will my sky HD cable for work with PS3?

Will my current sky HD cable (HDMI) work with my PS3 ok? i have only one HDMI slot in my TV so theres no point buying another if ive already got one, i heard it has to be HDMI 1.3, but anyone should be ok shouldnt it>

one more thing, on my 360 i just got online by plugging an ethernet cable from the back of my 360 into my modem, will it be the same with the ps3? so i can quickly go on and get the latest firmware and updates etc?

Yeah the ps3 has a ethernet port it will be fine
