Will NAS hard reset cause data loss?

Am unable to reach my Icybox 4220 after fitting new router (WR54GL).

I had previously set it up with a fixed IP and gateway. Of course I cannot remember these settings and now cannot access the GUI to modify settings or indeed access the data held within it

I can only think a hard reset will resolve the issue. I am paranoid that I will lose the data, I am not worried about the settings.

Anyone have any experience/advice?

Sorted.

Opened up the box and disconnected sata cable. Then reset the NAS and reconnected cable after reset complete. I figured it couldn't access HDD in this case even if it tried. It worked. Maybe of use to someone else.
