Will not be as fast as 580 ? is this true ???

They say 6970 will not be as fast the 580 and should be priced around the £300 point.
All the experts on here can you put me right

The HD6970 is not aimed at the GTX580 price point and therefore will not perform to the same levels.

Kitguru = take with a truck load of salt.

They had this title up the other day which has mysteriously disappeared.

kitguru is purely speculating things tbh they thing if gpu is worth 300£ it cant be faster then 580 gtx , but why not (amd/ati) always giving good price per performance ratio.

Even if its say 5% slower than the gtx 580 but priced £150 cheaper more people will buy it anyway. ATI aint stupid

Yea the ball is in AMDs court now, they can clock it a little higher and have it run a little hotter to claim single GPU crown "at stock" and then charge a bit more for it.

AMDs chips are quite big this time round (not fermi sized but still big) so their pricing will be key.
