When the ATI 5870 comes out, rumours are performs on par or slightly better, is DX11, and will almost certainly be cheaper. Surely makes the choice a no brainer. Nvidia would have to slaSh the prices of all there GPU's by a lot, and don't think that is possible.

So for 2-3 months ATI will surely control the top end market for single GPU?

im more of an ati fan myself but i have a feeling when nvidia do come out with their new 300 series it gonna be like the 4000 vs 200 series altho nvidias will be more expensive, theyll have more performance in the high end cards. but we'll see.

Yes, I'm sure nV will sell another 295.

To be honest, I'm really disappointed with nV ! They have been at the top of the ladder for so long, you'd think they would have given us more than the refreshes of the G90/92's.

ATI were well and truly beaten for over two years with the 88xx series form nV. But, ATI worked bloody hard and never gave up and produced - in my opinion - one of the best, bang for buck card, the 48xx series.

I agree, the 300 series might be awesome, but, awesomely expensive too, as per typical nV.

Lets see what ATi has with the 58xx cards, I doubt we'll be disappointed.

Just hope history doesn't repeat itself... I remember 3dfx making cards that were very bad value (price/performance) for money because of the high cost to manufacture the cards, which is sadly one of the main reason why 3dfx ended... Nvidia needs to cut down their costs to manufacture cards and sell better price/performance cards tbh.

IM sure Nvidia will bring out cards that support DX11 quite fast. I remember a wile back when AMD said thy will make 6 core processors and at 1 point will before intel but intel are already makign there6 core processors but just kept abit more quiet. Im sure NV are workign on 1 now there such a big company not to. Ive always kep with NV and AMD tho now im bendign towards building a Intel PC as the choice of tri channel is there and the MB will support the i9 chips.

Not seen benchmarks of the card yet so it's hard to say but if it is of simalar performance or even slightly slower then it wouldn't make any sense to buy a GTX295.

I think they will still sell them though as there are allot of missinformed people out there and others who just can't be bothered doing any research
