A certain company has shown/announced there version of a steam machine, costing around £430-£450, and will play steam games at native 1080p at 60fps. All I know so far that it has a AMD CPU, and a 270 inside the machine.

I was wandering if OCUK will ever do something similar like this?, oh and the case looks sexy is well :D.

Also what are your thoughts on a "steam machine" especially for us uk folks

Sorry for the bad grammar, didn't realize this was a English test. Now back onto the subject of the steam machine, the 270 gpu is capable of playing metro last light on medium at 1080p 60fps?

Not with good stability it isn't. I play on a GTX 690 and I often dropped a below 50. To be fair I was playing on ultra but even on high when I tried it it still happened. I doubt that a 270, if you were to turn on v sync, could stay at the 60 fps.

I'm unsure whehter many retailers will get on this like iBuyPower has in the US. It would be interesting if they did though, I think it'd shake the market up a bit in interesting ways.

I think a 690 may struggle because of its 2GB VRAM and its low memory bandwidth due to its 256 bit memory bus. Try and overclock the memory and see what happens.

It is realise mate, this is not an American forum.

I don't see the point, if you're a pc gamer then stay that way if you want a console that games are built around then get one, don't bother with this thing.
