Will powder coating block stand off holes?

As title really, looking at getting the internals of my Lian Li PC A71F powder coated black as part of my new project, see project logs, just wondering if the powder coating process will cover/fill the stand off holes or not? Do I need to take any precautions for this or not?
Thanks

i wouldnt think that powder coating will fill tho wholes if it is done right but i can see your concern but i wouldnt think it would but then again iv never had a case powdercoated but i have sprayed my own case and nothing was blocked.

hope that helps you

So just the mobo standoffs or all the screw holes?

If it was just the mobo are then I'd pop some standoffs (or screws of the same size) in them so the threads were protected.

I sprayed the inside of my case, I guess not powder coated, but I had the same concerns. However when it came to spraying the thing I forgot to try covering them (I had meant to but I'm a forgetful kinda person). It turned out no problem at all. I would have though powder coating isn't any thicker than a couple of coats of spray so I should think you'll be all right.

my suggestion

put standoffs in -> powder coat -> use pliers to carefully remove powered coated standoffs -> replace with fresh standoffs

:)

The powder coat will make screwing the stand offs in hard and will need to be cleared or you risk dethreading the mobo tray holes. You can simply rethread the holes after powder coating using a tap and die set.

When i looked into getting my lian li a70f powdercoated, i read that some companies will plug all the holes with silicone grommets. With standoffs installed, upon removing theres a serious risk of cracking the finish as powdercoating can be a bit brittle when knocked.

I had the side mesh grills on my TJ07 done, didn't fill the holes at all. I think because of the way powdercoating is done, it will not gather much thickness so I doubt you will have any issues!

I have powder coated a few cases as we have a powder coat machine where I work. I have just always got old standoffs from scrap cases and used them to fill the holes I don't want any powdercoating going in. The guys that do the job full time use copperslip on any parts they don't want painting, so that's another alternative but a bit messy for me. I have never had any issue with it cracking when using standoffs, powdercoating is pretty tough old stuff.
