And they're manufacturing less of it as people move to DDR2. There's never a good time to buy PC equipment, even less so with memory. Even with AGP cards they're still more expensive now than what I'd expect with PCI-Express now the major player and DX10 cards starting to appear.
Just buy now and enjoy your new PC over the festive period. Just make sure the stuff you buy is Vista compatible.
There is no such thing as January sales for computer parts. Unless of course a company is clearing their stock due to poor purchasing.
As the computer industry is for ever changing sales as such do not happen, new technology just comes out and older tech just dissapears.
Regarding memory prices well they have dropped but again are on the way back up and with VISTA improving demand then no doubt memory will not drop again to the real low levels it was at until maybe April/May time.
