Will RDNA 2 graphics cards have upto 72 CUs or upto 80 CUs?

80 CUs seems to be a very popular prediction, regarding the spec of the top RDNA 2 GPU, on Youtube and other tech journalism websites.

Personally, I think it will have double the CU count of the PS5 (36), at the same clock rate of 2233Mhz or higher. That would give the RDNA 2 GPU a slightly higher TF count (20.5 TFlops) than the RTX 3070. I think the PS5 GPU has a TDP of 150w or lower, so doubling the CU's should keep the maximum TDP at 300w or lower.

The Xbox X series however, is thought to have a TDP of upto 200w.

There are some tech journalism websites that share this view, hinting at 72 CUs, with large GPU clock increases vs the previous generation.

Which do you think is the most likely?

I think the 80 CU (or higher) part might come next year, hopefully with similarly high GPU clocks.

AMD are stuck with TSMC 7nm DUV fab process at the moment, they stopped mentioning '7nm+' on their marketing slides.

7nm EUV (known as 7nm+) will offer ~15% improvements in power consumption, with 1.2x the transistor density of standard TSMC 7nm. So it would be entirely possible to improve the design next year, with perhaps 80/88 CUs, at a similar TDP + die size.
