Now im not stupid i do understand that a 750W UPS cant deliver a 1Kw load, and if the power goes while the PC is pulling over 750Watts then ill get a hard shutdown. The reason i have the UPS in place isnt for this, the PC is on 24/7 and works as a file server, web server, minecraft server etc general hub of a PC and typically it would be idling at about 300W max which is when the power might blip or a breaker might go out.

So what im asking is does anyone know if having a UPS delivering more than its rated capacity could cause an issue under load? I ask mainly as im getting a 3080 to replace the 1080ti and im thinking the extra power draw might push the ups over 100% (currently at max load its on 89%)

Just asking in case anyone has had experience.

Obviously if power draw of load is too high for output power of UPS, it will shutdown more or less fast in battery mode.
Also transition to battery might not go properly, if load is near max output.

And are you sure it's actually 750W UPS?
That marketing number in model number has very little to do with watts.
While equally big unit as watt, volt ampere doesn't measure real power in AC world.

That's no idling.
That's space heater.

Ha your right, its 500W 750VA

300w aint that much is it? Ive got a space heater in my garage its 2.5Kw :D :D
