I see short-throw and ultra-short-throw projectors coming down and down in price. TVs are big and dominate the room; projectors are small and just need a portable screen or a bit of wall. Will projectors become competitive with and then surpass TVs in the home market?
Will short-throw / ultra-short-throw projectors take over from TVs at home?
No.
Issues with ambient light, black level and running costs will always be present. Being "cheap" won't overcome that.
