Will speakers b0rk my hardware?

Due to a re-shuffle my PC tower is now on my desk next to one of my hifi speakers (not magnetically shielded). I am a little concerned that it might affect my hardware, especially the Hard Disk.

Any advice regarding this, please?

I'd imagine it will take a while for any effects to show(if indeed there will be any) but I think I'd advise against placing speakers that close to a PC or monitor for that matter, it is an electromagnetic device(at least the hard drive) so will be susceptible to interferance.

I'd suggest maybe a stand for the speaker, another re-shuffle or find a bit of lead sheeting to go between PC and speaker

Of course the above could be incorrect as I'm just theorising here, not having my speakers close enough to my PC to test it out.

Is your case EMI shielded? Most modern cases will be.
