Will steam (and portal) work on a MAC

Basically, it's in the title. A friend of mine played portal at my house and would like to get it. However, she is on the dark side and uses a MAC. So, I thought I would check with you lovely people. Can the steam platform be run on a MAC and will Valve games work on it ie. half-life 2 and portal.

only if you have XP installed I don't think it will work on a mac OS.

There's a program called Crossover for OSX which *might* work. Probably best doing a bit more research into whether it's viable or not though.

Valve have officially stated that Steam is windows-only.

you can run steam on crossover

also cs:s etc, the speed isn't that brilliant tho

fastest way of running it would be via bootcamp + xp (as said above)
