As title really, i imagine it will be an identical experiance?

Im just wondering if i tried the steam sreaming now with my pc as a host and gfs laptop as the client, will that give me the same quality of stream that i would be getting when the link lands?

Just thinking of making sure it runs well enough. I wont be using wireless but network power adapters so probably the next best think after direct ethernet so hopefully that will be good enough?

Yea wish i preordered it now! Imagine we will see reviews! May try it anyway as if its decent surely the link will be the same if not better

You can still pre-order it  I've just pre-ordered one, fingers crossed it just works without too much fuss, would be nice to not be stuck upstairs in the dingy box room :p

Sorry i meant at the start if you ordered in june you get it in october!

Ohh I'm with you now sorry (haven't had my coffee yet) :p

I'm quite looking forward to receiving it next month, last Christmas I had to bring my PC downstairs into the lounge which was annoying as all hell.

Yea i know that feeling mate! Are you getting the controller too? Im thinking about it as it has a mouse track pad so if something goes durp we should be able to rectify it without returning to the host machine to close a pop up etc! Found this happened a lot in big picture mode when i played gta 5 at my tv!

I just hope theres no major loss in quality

Probably not, it looks interesting but I doubt I'll use it. I may buy it later if the need arises. I've got one of those mini keyboards with the trackpad built in so hopefully that does the trick if a mouse is needed.

I'm looking forward to see how steam link plays out. Right now I use Kinoni to stream from my desktop to my tv via my fire tv & it works well but is far from perfect.

I have just had a go with the steam streaming using network power plugs and my gfs laptop. It was ok, but would want it to be a bit beter to use for a long session. Tried it with Soma! It ran pretty good and at points became just as smooth as on my host machine but then for the most part it was a bit juttery, not horrible but i wouldnt be able to play like that :( wonder if the steam link may improve on this. Her laptop is old and a bit out of date but i imagine that wouldnt really matter

I hope so. Ordered one as I dont have(or want) a laptop or living room PC.

I'm actually ok with reducing resolution if I have to to get 60fps. Hit in clarity will be less noticeable on my TV than on my monitor.

I dropped the res to 720 which helped but still wasnt spot on! Everyones experiance is going to varie, i wouldnt expect much out of a wireless connection though, i think wired is the best way l. Wondering if direct ethernet connection will solve the issues i was having over power plugs
