Will the 7600GT 8x run on a 4x board?

well it seems my motherboard only supports 4x but the card i have purchased and is being shipped is the 8x card (no mention of 4x)

will this card work and will i have much loss ?

my board is a
MPGA478b E210882 Intel P4 running a 2.6 (may be celeron) with about 1500mb rab

If its an AGP v3 slot using 1.5v instead of 3.3v then yeah

There would be a slight reduction in bandwith available to the card, which would seldom be maxed out any way, so 99% of the time there's no difference.

Your cpu OTOH is big bottleneck

Celeron 2.6GHz is shocking, will bottleneck the performance of your 7600GT big time.
