Will the 9700k be compatible with Z370.

Looking to upgrade shortly, is anyone aware if the new intel chips (9700k/9900k) will be compatible with Z370?

Yes but if you want to overclock 9000k`s get one of the better Z370 MB or just wait to see what the new Z390 MB can do.

I'm just putting a parts list together to upgrade but will probably wait for the new intel chips before ordering a CPU.

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K
Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX Z370-F
Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory.

would push Hero if your going asus if you can . entry boards from for Z390 will beat most middle/lower end z370 . lowest Aorus is 12 phase or 6 doubled and smashed their middle to low end boards with 4-6 VRM set up etc

boards roll out week 40 though

I've managed to get a Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 7 for £110 so that's the board sorted.

The board will probably need a BIOS update to support the new CPUs, so you may need another CPU for the initial boot.

You should be safe with that board but will defo need a bios update as commented, however you may be able to update without a cpu if you use q-flash plus if the board supports it or at least you used to be able too on gigabyte boards.
