Hello,

I'm building a ITX Gaming system to sit under the TV.

at some point I will have the following
Case: Cooler Master Elite 130
MB Asrock Z77-ITX
RAM 8GB DDR3
Intel Ivy Or Sandy Bridge i5
SSD 120 SSD SATA3 (OS)
HHD 500GB SATA3
OOD: Undecided
GPU: Undecided Probably mid - high Current gen
PSU: Undecided probaby semi modular or full modular.

Question 1
Can you tell me if the following cooler currently on special will fit the CM Elite 130 and what configuration i.e, as is or push pull etc

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-010-AN&groupid=701&catid=2330&subcat=2359

Question 2
What other coolers would you suggest ?

Question 3
Is the Elite 130 One of the Best choices for and ITX gaming build ? any other suggestions.

Cheers
K

It should fit, but you'd have to have it blowing out the front of the case and you'd lose a good portion of the front bay to the fan/pump setup. You could go push pull however as you'd still have the 120mm fan space at the front of the case to use.

The Seidon 120V (~£39) / 120M are the coolers that the case was designed around. Although the Corsair H60, and any other standard 120mm radiator AIO set up should fit no problem.

I'm loving my Elite 130, pleanty of space for a full sized GPU and PSU, and lots of sneaky spots for mouting HDD and SSD's.

Hi Thanks for your response.

Can I ask why I would have to have the cooler blowing out the front?
Don't understand

I thought the front would suck in the air from outside the case and inside the case the PSU would be positioned upside down so that it sucks in air from inside the case and exhausts it out the back? Isn't the recommended layout from CM ? Or are you referring to the actual Antec cooler?

As for your water cooling suggestion, I actually have forgotten that i'm currently running the 120m in my main machine and its been performing well. I'll Probably get another if its supposed to be for this case. Any difference between the 120v & 120M ?

Any other tips for fitting this build? how are the noise and heat levels ?

regards
K

For that Antec cooler you can't remove the fan assembly as the pump is built into the fan hence the tubing coming down from the opposite end of the rad.

How you would normally fit a water cooler in the CM130 is by removing the front plate, taking out the 120mm fan holding pegs, then bolting through the fan and into the radiator inside the case.

Fan -> case -> radiator sandwich.

With the Antec you can't put the fan on the front, so you'd have to have the rad fixed inside with the fan pushing air out the front instead. :)

120V and 120M are very similar, I think the only difference is the 120V uses a newer pump. Temp differences between them are negligible.

Noise and heat are fine, there's tons of ventilation for the GPU to pull air in, I've got my PSU doing as you've said sucking air out the case and blowing out the back, and the watercooler set up to suck in fresh air from the front. The 80mm on the side I've 7V'd and it works nicely to move a bit more air around the motherboard.

Definitely get a FULLY modular PSU. I got a semi modular and have a lot of spare cables that are quite hard to stash in the case. Currently filling up the optical drive bay

I have the same case but with the corsair h80 cooler fitted. I have only used one of the fans on the rad due to the size and the positioning of my hard drives. I also have the same mobo.
Anyway, the cooler is left on medium and I have no issues, it is pretty quiet. It was very fiddle trying to sort all the cabling out, but worth it for airflow issues.
I will say though that as already stated, a modular pus helps immensly.

Cheers guys thanks for the feedback.
I'll get a full modular PSU,the elite 130 and the Cooler master Sedion 120v/or 120m

Whats the temps like for you guys with this case and a watercooler (whilst gaming)

Thanks again
