Hi!

I want to upgrade from my current Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33Ghz to the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66Ghz.

Also, I have a GeForce 8500GT 256MB RAM and I wan to upgrade to a GeForce GTS 250 SLI 1024MB .

Will the ASUS P5N-E SLI Motherboard support these upgrades?

Thanks in advance. :)

What is 'nm'?

So I can buy a GeForce GTS 250 SLI 1024MB and it will work with my Motherboard?

Also, doesn't the P5N-E SLI have a LGA775 socket, which can support the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66Ghz? It uses a LGA775 socket.

Here is my rig (if useful):

Windows Vista Home Premium X32 Bit
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33Ghz
2GB DDR2 667Mhz RAM
500GB Hard Drive
GeForce 8500GT 256MB Graphics Card
550 Watt Power Supply

PS: What is a GPU?

PSS: For reference, I am not interested in overclocking.

Thank you :)

Are you sure? Will it be ok on Vista X32 Bit? Will my motherboard support the FSB speed? Will my PSU be able to support the upgrades?

I don't want to spend £140 on a processor or £85 on a graphics card to find that it doesn't work...

Here is some info on my PSU sticker:

HEC: High Evolution Commitment
HEC-550TD-PTE
Total Output: 550Watt

Again, thanks in advance ;)

Nice rig btw :)

I only want one GTS 250 :)

How can I tell whether my Power Supply will handle the upgrades?

Also, if my Power Supply won't handle the upgrades, then would I be able to get a refund?

Here are the details on the sticker on my Power Supply:

(H.E.C) HIGH-QUALITY EVOLUTION COMMITMENT

I would put a photo on here but I don't know the URL for it...

So, as long as I return it within 7 days - with all the parts of course, I can get my money back no matter what? :)

Thank you very much for your help reflux :)

Other people have said that my PSU will be completely fine. I won't upgrade it because I can't afford it along with the other upgrades.

One more question though: If my upgrades do work, how long will it be until they won't be able to play games at their recommended settings for any longer? (I'm hoping about 2 years...)

Or, do you think they would be able to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at highest settings. (Or at least Call of Duty: World at War on highest).

If not, I might be more inclined to get a GTX 260 card instead.
