in a psu topic I was thinking of getting a small case with a pico to house my am1 so I can take it with me if I go away for a weekend or whatever, mainly to watch movies and use offline and the odd games should they run. I tested out 2 point hospital on it yesterday and is sluggish as expected even on very low settings, I couldn’t imagine intel graphics doing any better, so it got me thinking about the sims as I used to love that game, only got 3 and 4, but not installed them, but want them all.

Anyways to achieve this I would be looking at 90-100 quid for the case and power stuff and you can get a Nuc or brix for not much more which all I would need to buy is the ram, so I am now thinking of leaving my AM1 setup how it is currently and just buy a mini pc....

I’m just curious if the celeron based units will be a waste of money for older gamer such as the sims series as those the sort of games I’d play away from home?

thanks for replies.

life story? bit rude of a reply dont you think!, i was giving a background behind my question as if its not better suited than my AM1 then no point buying a mini pc with said hardware, its also for anyone who looks in other sections and might think why am i asking.

i dont know what fps i would get in the sims to worry about it, even on low settings i would like smoother gameplay unlike 2 point hospital though, its not like i would be playing games on it all the time, just smaller than carrying a laptop.

i did think of a 2200g, but wasnt sure if a pico would work with one and what be the smallest case that can house one? not worried about fanless or not just want small and portable.
