Will the next generation of graphics cards have multiple DisplayPort connections?

With all the innovative monitors that have come out recently (ROG Swift, 4k, G-Sync) all relying on DisplayPort connections, will we start seeing graphics cards with multiple DisplayPort outputs? It seems like connectivity options are making back panels crowded but we might needed to be given HDMI -> DVI adapters in the box like we used to get DVI -> VGA adapters in order to make space?

Sounds reasonable, though my crystal ball is currently being RMA'd and my magic mirror has the hump with me, so I'll have to get back to you on that one :(

The sun is shining onto Venus, with Virgo pulling strong and I have no idea what I am talking about so will also say "yes"

Display-port at this point is really the only way forward. HDMI needs to step up a gear to be in the PC space. specially DP offering usb ethernet & power

and displayport suports 8k 60Hz where as hdmi supports 4k at 30...

Displayport supports daisy chaining and multi stream technologies, so probably less likely to see multi connections on GPUs and increased implementation of those features on monitors and other hardware.

Unfortunately, HDMI is very popular with people who don't know any better :(

Far too often on deal threads about laptops for instance, people complain about business-class laptop (Lenovo Thinkpads, HP Elitebooks, or Dell Latitudes) with the moronic "cold, no HDMI", little realising that the DP or miniDP port on these laptops is superior to HDMI and that adapters for DP>HDMI are cheap.

Few past cards have had multiple mini dp ports, 6990 and 7990 had I think 4 each, it should be a growing trend to include more, probably mini ones with adaptors to full.

i hope so
my last 144hz screen i think is dual-dvi or something
the new ones are display port
i guess depends how far back they feel they need to support
my tv only have hdmi, thats biggest problem i see
a lot of people use tv's with their pc's and i dont see them having display ports, the new 4k ones all seem be like 4 hdmi + a scart, some usb etc

one of these connections needs to hurry up and lose lol

haha yes i guess thats for old set top boxes that dont have hdmi i duno
i dont think it even support 1080p!? so kinda crazy

but this hdmi has to change sometime, using compression to get 4k at 60hz or upscalling that atm adds lots extra lag, thats no good

i should think even console ppl will complain over that
