Will the Q6600 be reduced in the UK after the 22nd July too?

Hey,

I'm looking to build a new PC soon, hopefully with a Q6600, does anyone know if on the 22nd July the price will drop here, like in the US? Obviously not as much as in the US, since that would make it £132 GBP, but drop at all?

I don't know if I should wait (If I wait I'll have a bit more money for something else I want) or if they're not going to reduce any more here just buy it now while it's on offer at £287 now.

Should be around £150-180 i think when that day comes. Tho dont expect all etailers to go to that price immediatly. They will try to squeeze out regular prices till they cant afford not to move to the new prices.

It will be Intel who will be giving back the costs to the retailers, so their shoudnt be any problems with any company reducing the prices, besides once one company drops their prices it only makes sense for the others to follow otherwise they will miss out on sales especially with this announcement being well known.

Also its probally in the best interests to reduce the prices asap, I am sure I've read a few articles were companys were find thousands if not hundreds of thousands for overpricing.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll wait then since I'm not in any great rush at the moment. I should be able to buy a 8800 GTX instead of GTS too. :)

Once one leads, the others will follow. Pointless holding out at £280 when they're on sale for £150 - you won't sell any!

There are still some retailers that have not even passed on the last price drops. I have seen 6600's still being sold at over £200 and 6700's for over £300. The same goes for most of the C2D range. People will pay it because they don't know any better. Some people stick to one retailer and don't bother shopping around. I know it's their loss but it's still a rip off.

I've been ringing round asking a couple of well known etailers about these 'price drops'.

They have heard NO information on them at all. Of course this could be a sales pitch to try and get you to buy now instead of wait... but still!

Will they even happen, word has not come direct from Intel!
