I apologise if this is in the wrong section but I couldn't find a more appropriate one so here begins my rant.

For the last week or so I have been inundated with spam email. Everything from mobility scooters, personal loans, debt consolidation, menstruation relief and hair replacement therapy.

I am a 28 year old, able bodied, debt free male with a full head of hair so you can understand my rage when every day without fail I have 20 new Emails, all to the same effect.

Are there any ways to block these nuissance emails ? I'm using my hotmail address through the messenger client and although I'm selecting these messages as junk, the same ones crop up day in, day out. There seems to be no way of blacklisting the addresses.Unless the messages are being sent out via bot networks and come from different addresses every time.

I really don't want to lose my Email address as it is used for many legitimate sites and I have forum notifications set up using it.

Are there third party programs that can silently screen all my emails before they reach my inbox ?

I've had a look at Mozilla thunderbird but struggled to find the required information to set it up and I'm not even sure if it's any good.

Any advice would be great as at this rate I really will be needing hair replacement therapy as I will have torn all mine out.

Cheers.

I'm using my hotmail address

This is the problem. I'm astounded how terrible the Hotmail SPAM filter is, even obvious spam gets through it.
Switch to Gmail, I get around 15 spam a day, however none of it hits my inbox. Ever. Nothing legit ever goes to junk either. Its amazing.

I really want to avoid changing my email as that address is registered to almost everything I use on the internet.

You don't have to change your email address. Just create a gmail account & set it up so you can import all the mail from your current address & gmail's spam filter takes care of the junk.

seeing this in GD i thought it was gonna be about all the spec me a pencil/should i eat today?/ is my 3 year old chicken ok to eat threads.
