Hey,

I'm not sure if Wii has ever had a price drop since it's doing so well.. but after playing it round my mates house I considered how fun and some of the games and thought about buying one.. but before steaming into it, do you think they might be a price drop around Christmas? ;)

Thanks

I very much doubt it.Sales are still going strong for the wii at the moment. Perhaps if sales don't meet nintys expectations they might, but I would have to say from what I'm seeing at work its unlikely (work in a games store)

Don't fall for it, i played it around a mates and thought it was fantastic, 1 year after buying it and it hasn't been touched in months. It's an incredibly fun idea but there are very few titles and once the novelty factor has worn off it just isn't worth it imo. You've got the best arrangement atm; a mate who owns it so you can play it occasionally, keep it that way as in the long term it just can't cut it.

That aside, if you have your heart set on it, i don't see a price cut coming any time soon, sales are still way up so there's no reason to reduce it.

I'm selling mine this weekend with Wii Fit. It's been a complete gimmick for me and my GF, and it's poor when the best game (IMO) is still the one you get free with it!

The problem with the Wii is you have a quick go on one and decide it's the best thing ever. When you finally get one of your own is when the novelty wears off. I'd only keep mine if we always had friends coming round who wanted to play on it.

But no, I don't see a price cut coming any time soon. Why would they?

There's no reason for Nintendo to drop the price of the Wii as it's still selling as quick as they can manufacter, so a price drop would leave real shortages again.

You have to remember that market demand determins price.

I agree, they have no reason to drop the price they still hammer everything else in the sales, well apart from the DS lol. A bit like when the xbox/GC dropped below the PS2 price it had hardly an effect on PS2 sales. They have not even introduced different colour Wiis yet!

I was the same until I picked up Mario Kart and GH III, the kids are never off of Mario Kart and I now have something to pick up from scratch in Guitar Hero!!! Also got a few other things I've not got around to opening (tw09 & Lego Indy) purely because I'm playing them on the psp.

Tempted to sell mine, I havent played it in over 18months. Girlfriend plays it once every few weeks, got about 15 games for it, just cant be bothered!
id stick with playing your mates really.
Im hoping to shift it intime for Christmas just after they all sell out, hopefully ;)

Since I got Mario Kart about a month ago the Wii has been on nearly every night. My girlfriend loves playing it and so do I. The Wii is one of those systems that is fun for parties or when you have mates around, or someone else to play with. But not enough AAA titles for 1 player only. Mario Galaxy is a great game though. Maybe you should buy one play it for 2 months then sell it off. You will probably lose £20 max. Maybe even break even to be honest.

I am interested in a wii board also, but dont want to pay more than £50 for it really. Will wait till price comes down till I get that one.
