will there be a difference in gfx quality with newer card ?

currently have a GTS 512, will a newer card make the graphics look better as well as improve the framerate etc ?

I have Ghostbusters on the PS3 and PC, with everything set to max quality there is cerainly more detail and higher resolution that on the PS3, but the PS3 seems to look more 3D, more lifelike, and some of the lighting effects seem better too


I could just be imagining this, or it's because I'm more used to the PS3 but the game doesn't look as good as i think it should on the PC

so, basically will a new card , 5870 GTX 295 etc.... make the graphics quality better than what I get just now, or will it just look the same but run better ?

What screen/telly/monitors are you comparing or have you got them both running through the same display ?
 
both through a plasma, 1920*1080
it still looks great through the pc but theres something about the ps3 that looks more 'believable' lol
