Will there be a 'New Mac' in Jan?

It's not necessarily a big change though. Might just be an extra 0.1Ghz on the base model or whatever. Just go ahead and buy it. I think the whatever comes in the new year will most likely be portable. Besides, mid January is ages away.
 
yeah there is a lot of us in the same boat....
there is a big mac event called macworld around the 15th of Jan 08
There are usually some cool anoucments that come out around mac world.
so it may be worth holding off. I am personally torn right now.
I have the money... i have little will power.... i know i should wait... i just dont know if i can :eek::D
 
A brand spanking new iMac is a superb bit of kit, if you want to buy one do it, it will give you many years of trouble free computing. If you get in the mind set of waiting for the next update you will never be satisfied. You will be happy as a pig in poop with a shiny new iMac, no doubt about it. :D

I got an imac a month ago and im loving every second. Go to your nearest Apple store and you wont be able to resist. I love front row and your mates will be drooling with envy when you skim through all your music and movies remotely. iMac IS sex imo. My GF is jealous of my relationship with my mac, she says i spend more time with it than spending my time with her. :D

same boat here myself... if some nice gfx card updates then il definitely splash out... if i decide i cant afford it then a 24" imac will do nicely!

I'm yet to see whats so good about Front Row - it doesn't even do as much as Windows Media Centre (ie it can't see my Miglia TV card) or am I missing something? :confused:
 
As far as im aware, theyve only just started doing adverts for the imac, so it would be pretty silly and a waste of money to release a new one in such a short amount of time.

Im definately getting one soon, just got to wait till pay day :(:p

Remote control to view all the music, videos, podcasts from any folder (if you alias it).

I love it and my friends are jealous :p
 
Its a question always worth asking - are there any updates in the pipeline - but in this case I'm gonna say buy buy buy.

Any update in January is going to be a slight spec bump. Now is probably the best time to buy an iMac. They wont be updating the enclosure for a while.

Hell, I still think my first generation Intel iMac is pretty sweet.

You've misinterpreted the information.. it's been 185 since the last update. The last iMac update went well over 230 days, so it should be safe for another 2 or 3 months.

My guess is there will be a "sub notebook" product launch, alongside Mac Pro updates.


Buy now, enjoy now.. you'll only get to Jan and be thinking "Oh but June is just around the corner.." and you'll end up waiting again.

the bootaful thing is they look the same :D

you can advertise the product and upgrade without any worries.
