Will there be any higher spec Agp cards released?

Well the 6800series and the X800series were supposed to be the last but then they had further models released but I rather suspect that we have seen pretty much the last of relatively high end AGP cards. :)

The x1950 AGP seems to have shown that decent AGP cards are still in demand, if I were a graphics card manufacturer, I would release mid-range cards in AGP until the sales dipped below the profit level. But I am not a manufacturer :D

But you guess correct as to why they still throw out AGP cards.... I guess toward end of '07 when all big manufacturers of PC's drop AGP there may be no AGP GPU's about.... but there are still a lot of AGP based rigs out there so who could really tell when PCI-E will be the only buy for new

Im sure there will be DX10 agp cards, but they might not be as good as the x1950Pro speedwise, you'll probably see 64bit 8200's or simular.

Well, we've had this debate for as long as I've lurked and been a member on these boards, and we've often said that AGP is nearly dead, but guess what, it keeps coming back! :)

Whilst there's this huge AGP market out there, then I believe companies will be unable to resist selling to it.

So, my view is that yes, there will be some faster cards coming out.

Or is the X1950 Pro the end of the AGP species before they eventually become extinct?

if the agp cards like the X1950 Pro sells well, then I guess they would keep releasing new ones. But as it becomes rarer the prices would go up. :(
IMHO the name is another factor that helps sell it. I mean the AGP versions of nVidia cards are all GS. GS to me is like LE ( Lite Edition ) and puts me off it.
