Will there be full scale riots by the tournament end?

The referee did a pretty decent job of defusing friction surrounding the tournament tonight but I've just seen on the news riot police and angry mobs etc during the opening ceremony/match, not to mention ITV studio getting pelted with stones.

Is Brazil going to go into meltdown if/when they get knocked out? or will they get a helping hand to go the whole way (if needed) like they did tonight?

There won't be a meltdown and the authorities will keep a frim hand around the various venues so the tournament won't be disrupted. As Brazil progresses through the tournament the trouble will lessen.

Can't blame them for a bit of stone throwing at ITV. Their coverage got disrupted, then they saw and heard Adrian Chiles. Given the chance most viewers here would have done the same. :p

The next game being 2 out of 3 should be more relaxed but if there's a danger of them going out in game 3, the tensions will mount again, I'm sure.

Some of the groups have said they will escalate protests as the tournament goes on but that could just be scare talk.
